Description

Pentecom is seeking a Deputy Director of Consulting Services to join our team!

The Deputy Director of Consulting Services is responsible for leading the Pentecom team of Technical Data Analysts and Engineers and has responsibility for leading clients to successful outcomes with technical data development, conversion, and sustainment projects. Pentecom is especially invested in S1000D and this position is expected to be actively involved in sustainment and growth of the specification; participating in and leading working groups and task teams.

Please note: The Deputy Director of Consulting Services position is a full-time, remote position.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Deputy Director of Consulting Services supervises the Pentecom Technical Data Architect and a team of Technical Data Analysts and Engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

The Deputy Director of Consulting Services supports the Technical Data Analysis and Consulting team members to ensure their project success and career growth. This includes resolving escalated issues, determining strategy, and other activities to facilitate success for the team, Pentecom, and our clients. The Deputy Director leads and participates in engagements to include client relationship building and advocacy, requirements analysis, business rules recommendations, process design, analysis, strategy, and technical recommendations. The Deputy Director adheres to Pentecom security policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Abilities

Subject matter expert in the following areas:

  • Organizational and project leadership
  • Communication
  • Client relationships
  • S1000D and Military technical publication standards
  • Technical publications development, conversion, and sustainment processes

Knowledgeable in all the following areas:

  • Equipment maintenance and operations concepts
  • XML including authoring, data management, and viewing software
  • Project management
  • Quality assurance

Expectations

  • Must have the ability to “wear many hats” and embrace many roles, tasks and projects
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during periods of heavy workload to meet project milestones, implementation deadlines, and specific customer or team needs
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate technical solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must be eager to learn new technologies
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Logistics, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 20 years experience in the technical publications industry

Special Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
  • 5% travel
